Cooler Master Hyper TX-3 - CPU Cooler Review Print E-mail

Cooler Master Hyper TX-3 - CPU Cooler ReviewPCWizKid once again puts to the test the a Cooler Master CPU Cooler with much anticipation.  Why?  This time its the mainstream Hyper TX-3.  One of the most low cost CPU Coolers from the Cooler Master lineup.  This CPU cooler supports all current CPU sockets for mainstream CPU's including the new Intel Core i3 and i5.  Weighing only 450 grams this little cooler has a 92mm fan which is surprisingly quiet at 17db.  Heat is transferred to the aluminum fins via three copper heat pipes from the solid copper base that makes contact with the CPU.  This design is very effective rather than encasing the heatpipes in a copper plate the comes in contact with the CPU.  Theoretically this increases the heat transfer from the CPU to the cooler and in turn the CPU will operate at a lower temperature.

Features

  • Flexible mountings for Intel Socket LGA 775/1156 and AMD Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM3.
  • Maximum compatible CPU wattage: over 130W TDP.
  • 3 x Direct Contact heat-pipes with aluminum fins to provide excellent heat dissipation.
  • Option for adding 2nd fan to increase cooling performance.
  • New 92mm PWM fan with wide RPM range and anti-vibration rubber pads.
  • Silent CPU cooler at only17 dBA (at minimum speed).
  • Easy swappable fan by clips (clips for 2nd fan included).
  • Excellent airflow design with compact heatsink dimension.
